On to year 5, where tradition says you should gift your spouse something made of wood. This material is a bit more challenging for female gift picks, but I think I’ve come up with a few ideas that will work for both hubby and wife.
By the way, if you missed any of my traditional Anniversary picks for years 1-4, you can check out my previous posts here.
My favorite ‘wooden’ gift pick is a jewelry or watch box. It’s a personal but practical gift that you’re likely to keep for many years. Make it even more special by hiding a new sparkly piece of jewelry inside. The jewelry boxes pictured here are from Pottery Barn and Red Envelope.
Wine Enthusiast has a lot of nice wooden wine racks at a variety of prices. The walnut one pictured is under $40.
Can’t go wrong with a framed family photo! You could also choose a piece of artwork, memorabilia or a letter to be framed. I love these oak frames from Restoration Hardware.
Ok, a pool table is a little extravagant, I know… but if you like this gift idea and don’t want to invest too much you could always check Craigslist or eBay for a second hand option. Alternatively, go with a less expensive game like darts or chess.
If you’re in need of any kind of furniture for your home, now would be a great time to splurge. If you have a porch or some outdoor space, though, I love the idea of an outdoor swing, rocking chair or picnic table.
