DIY Purse Essentials Kit

I don’t know about you all but I generally find my purse to be deceivingly heavy. I don’t seem to jam it packed but yet it always feels like I’ve got a ton of bricks in there. My biggest problem probably has to do with the fact that I like to have anything I could possibly need – gum, needle and thread, tide pen, etc. –always on hand. Inspired by the Minimergency Kit I showed you here, I decided to make my own version of the purse essentials kit. AND, because I am a very nice very thoughtful sister, I made a special version for moms as well. Wouldn’t you love to get one of these for Christmas?

So…I purchased some very blah looking cosmetic cases at Target for under $10 and because they were so unappealing I decided to re-cover them in some more exciting fabric. You can skip this step if you find a cosmetic case that you like.

Then, I visited the travel (sample size) aisle at Target and loaded up. Here’s a look at all the goodies I purchased:
