Did you know that four out of five people ditch their resolutions by year’s end? Eek. Those are not good odds. So before youβre tempted to throw in the towel, go on a spending spree, make a mess of your house, have a cheeseburger, etc… check out my five tips to stick to your 2013 resolution.
.Β Use an app. Try MyFitnessPal for counting calories, Livesrong MyQuit Coach for quitting smoking,Β I Can Do It 2013 Calendar for daily words of wisdom or Bdgt to track your spending.
.Β Pick an achievable goal. Do you set the same goal every year and fail to keep it? Perhaps you should choose something thatβs easier to achieve. Instead of, βI will lose 20 lbsβ go with βI will join an exercise class that meets at least twice a week in order to lose weight.β
.Β Devise a plan. Create one with small milestones built in.
.Β Share your goal. Write it down or tell friends & family about your plan to help hold yourself accountable.
.Β Let yourself cheat just a little. A year is a long time to keep a resolution. Youβre more likely to stick to your plan if you know you have a cheat day to look forward to.
